Thursday, July 10th Volunteer Meeting 6pm - Goody Bag Stuffing 7pm - Meeting 8pm - Volunteer Run/Walk the course If you are volunteering at this year's Rose Run, please join us if you can at the Petersburg Library for information on where you'll be assigned and pick up your volunteer t-shirts. If you cannot make this meeting, no fear! Come find the volunteer booth Saturday morning. Friday, July 11th Packet Pick Up & Spaghetti Dinner 5-8pm United Methodist Church, Petersburg 152 Saline St, Petersburg, MI 49270 Pick up your race packet at the church and carb load! If you are pre-registered, you will receive a ticket for a free meal. You can also pre-purchase tickets HERE or buy tickets at the packet pick up for your friends and family. Thank you Methodist! Pastor Joel Walther and his team have graciously offered to help you (and your family) carb load the night before The Rose Run. Our packet pick-up will be held at The Methodist Church on Friday, July 11th from 5pm-8pm. Dinner will also be available starting at 5pm. If you are a pre-registered runner, you will receive a FREE dinner from the church in honor of your participation in The Rose Run. You will receive a ticket for your meal once you've picked up your packet. You can also pre-purchase additional tickets for your family and friends. Who doesn't love a race shirt!? One of my favorite things about the 5k process is developing a t-shirt that will be worn for a long time after the run is over. This year I've enlisted the help of a dear friend here in Los Angeles. Meet, Shaun Cashman. Shaun is not only a husband to one of my loveliest friends and father to two fantastic little girls, he's an Annie and Emmy award nominated and winning director/producer and animator. Actually, if I'm being honest, Shaun is probably one of the best artist's I personally know. He has sitting on his mantle at home, two Emmy's...one for Best Direction of Animation and Best Producer In Animation. He's also the lucky owner of an Annie Award for best directing in animation. People, one of his FIRST jobs in the industry was for The Simpsons. The. Simpsons. He hand drew Homer and the family for 11 years for FOX.  A cell Shaun drew with modern Simpsons meeting original Simpsons He's also animated and/or directed for King of The Hill, A Charlie Brown Special, A Winnie The Pooh Film, The Penguins of Madagascar, Fanboy & Chum Chum and currently is working on Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja on Disney Channel. He's done more than that though...check him out on IMDB. I'm so excited to tell you that Mr. Shaun Cashman is hand drawing the front of our Rose Run T's this year! *squeal* I gave him an idea that I thought of last year and sent him on his merry way of Drawing Board Land. In the photo above, Shaun and I are going over final design for the shirt. I can't wait to see the finished product.  Shaun and Simpson's creator, Matt Groening.. See that plane? Shaun designed. I am so thankful to have so many amazing people in my life that support The Rose Run. We couldn't do this without the friends, families and complete strangers volunteering their time, donating their money, participating, volunteering and like Shaun, lending me his talents. You can sign up virtually and participate from wherever you are....Illinois, Florida, Afghanistan, Utah.... doesn't matter! Visit our Virtual page for information on joining in the cause from your own backyard! AboutThe Rose Run was started in 2009 by the family of Rose Marie Hunt. Rose lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 54, and since then, her hometown and strangers across the country have come together to raise over $50,000 in her name for various charities and non-profits including, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The University of Michigan Cancer Center and The Petersburg/Summerfield volunteer fire department.
