I get asked all year long whether or not the pistachios will be in the goody bags. And the answer is yes! Although we're used to seeing the Everybody's Nuts' logo...they are now Wonderful Pistachios all in one. So, you can look forward to the lovely samples of nuts in your race bags this year! And just to let you in on a little secret...they have a really fun ad campaign this year, including the Super Bowl ad below...Enjoy Psy!

Moms In Motion is a fitness group for women that is nationwide...but I found Lucie Murray through the Los Angeles group in Griffith Park. Lucie became a mentor to me, teaching me that I could actually run long distance, and didn't even know it. Lucie and the group of women I ran with at the time, were all with me through the death of my mother. When I had the idea to do The Rose Run in Petersburg, Lucie suggested that Los Angeles do one too...and beyond that, anyone who wanted to do it! The "Virtual Run" was born. Thank you Lucie Murray and A Runner's Circle in Los Feliz for hosting The Rose Run Los Angeles for the 5th year in a row! The Los Angeles Rose Run helps to raise nearly $1000 every year. The funds raised in any virtual run done anywhere...go directly to the National Charity. To remind you, you don't have to be in Petersburg, or even Los Angeles for that matter, to participate in The Rose Run. You can sign up anywhere virtually. Grab a group of friends...run/walk solo and go from your front door. We've had runners in California, Montana, Arizona, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, Alabama and even Okinawa, Japan! Sign up today......visit the Virtual Page HERE...... |
From The Crowd...
"The race this year was my first 5K since high school (26 years ago!). I had a great time and really enjoyed being in Petersburg. It felt great to run a race again (except the humidity killed in the third mile! :) ) I was happy to help support the charities in honor of Rose and my father who passed away from Cancer 7 years ago. I will be back next year!" -Michael Koczorowski
AboutThe Rose Run was started in 2009 by the family of Rose Marie Hunt. Rose lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 54, and since then, her hometown and strangers across the country have come together to raise over $50,000 in her name for various charities and non-profits including, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The University of Michigan Cancer Center and The Petersburg/Summerfield volunteer fire department.
