I cannot begin to explain how awesome it is to sit at the finish line and see all of you runners and walkers coming in! Although some of you might be there to gain a personal record, others are there to try a 5k for the first time and I love all of it. Thank you so much for being a part of this run, for supporting our causes and for braving the heat! If you haven't already, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter! That's the best way to keep in the know for all things Rose Run. Thank you!!!

The race this year was my first 5K since high school (26 years ago!). I had a great time and really enjoyed being in Petersburg. It felt great to run a race again (except the humidity killed in the third mile! :) ) I was happy to help support the charities in honor of Rose and my father who passed away from Cancer 7 years ago. I will be back next year!

AboutThe Rose Run was started in 2009 by the family of Rose Marie Hunt. Rose lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 54, and since then, her hometown and strangers across the country have come together to raise over $50,000 in her name for various charities and non-profits including, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The University of Michigan Cancer Center and The Petersburg/Summerfield volunteer fire department.
